William "Bill" Abbs
March 18, 1925 - June 4, 2016
March 18, 1925 - June 4, 2016
Passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Rhea, son David and brother Pete. Survived by daughters Catherine (Syd) and Marilyn (Peter). Beloved grandfather to Jennifer Rogers (Geoff), Kimberley Eveleigh (Tyler), Julianne Main (Ben) and Heather Main (Matt). Great-grandfather to Big Isaac, Little Issac and Jackson.
Bill was a successful person not only in life, but in business as well. He was the former co-owner of Target Graphics and Stafford Graphics. He had many good times and met many good people during his time in both the lithographic print and then the lithographic film trade.
Not one to sit still, he eventually retired at the age of 70 and pursued his favourite hobbies; golf and watching the Toronto Blue Jays.
He was our mentor, our leader, confidante, but mostly the best parent that anyone could ask for.
Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home-Newmarket Chapel, 524 Davis Drive (905-898-2100) on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at King City Cemetery.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations to Matthews House Hospice in Alliston would be kindly appreciated.
