After a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis, Sarah May Doucette (Happy Heart) passed away at Toronto General Hospital on January 27, 2016 with her mother, father, sister, boyfriend Adam, and childhood friend Sara at her bedside. Lovingly remembered by her mom May, dad Mike, sister Melissa, nieces Jasmine, Emma and Bridget, her grandmother Mollie, her boyfriend Adam, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pre-deceased by her brother Tim. Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and hospital support staff who cared for Sarah at so many different times throughout her life and in particular during the last months .

Sarah was born on October 20, 1976. She fell in love with horses at the age of ten, leading to the eventual start up of her own successful Stone Hollow Riding Academy at her farm north of Barrie. Later on, as her health became increasingly compromised, she turned her unique talents to another love of all things Gothic and started another business, the Gift Crypt, which she owned and singularly managed until recently. Sarah was an advocate for raising awareness of CF and organ donation, raising money and participating in many fundraisers throughout her life. In hospital and unable to be physically present as maid of honor at her best friend Krista’s wedding in Victoria, typical of Sarah not wanting to disappoint, she innovated and delivered her speech via Skype.

Sarah’s courage and strength inspired so many people . She has left a memorable legacy to the many people she touched during her life.

A celebration of Sarah’s life will take place at 2 pm on Sunday, February 7th at Taylor Funeral Home 524 Davis Drive in Newmarket. Donations to Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.
