PRATT, Leslie (Les) January 16, 1927 (Cheshire, England) - November 27, 2016 (Newmarket, Ontario)

A much-loved gentleman, Les left us quietly at Southlake Regional Health Centre, in his 90th year. Beloved father to Janice and son-in-law Dave, and to daughter-in-law Lynn; cherished Papa to Lori, Ryan and Russell (Caroline); adored Papa Chief to eight beautiful great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, England and the United States. He is predeceased by his wife and childhood sweetheart Margaret (2009), and son Gary (2012). Les is a retired District Chief from the City of North York Fire Department and while he saved
many lives in his 30 years on the force, he is a lifetime hero to our family. He will be fondly remembered for always humming a tune, his kindness and generosity, and there is a good chance he is looking down as you read this saying “What’s the matter with you, you’ve got a face on you like a can of worms!” We would like to thank the kind people at Chartwell Alexander Muir Retirement for the friendship and care they provided to Les over the past two years, and to Southlake Regional Health Centre for bringing comfort in his final days. Cremation will take place at Taylor Funeral Home, Newmarket followed by a private Celebration of Life. Our family requests memorial donations made in Les’ name to The Margaret Bahen Hospice Campaign at www.southlakefoundation.ca .
