<div itemprop="description">WOODS, John - <br /> <br />Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2015 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Joan. Loving father of Bryan (predeceased) and his wife Kim and daughter Diane Dawson. Cherished grandfather of Terry, Amanda, Nicole, Emma, Russell and Jesse; step-grandfather to Maria and Laila; great-grandfather of Maddex. Survived by his sister Eunice (Ted), predeceased by his brother Harold (Maureen) and predeceased by sister Christine. Heartfelt gratitude to Sherry Lee for her loving care of John and continuing care of Joan. <br /> <br />John worked for the former Toronto Hydro for over 35 years, and retired as the Purchasing Manager. John and Joan enjoyed 48 years of cottage life on Snake Island, Lake Simcoe. His warm sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him. <br /> <br /> <br />Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home - Newmarket Chapel, 524 Davis Drive (905-898-2100) on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 11 a.m. - 12 noon followed by light refreshments prior to Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Queensville Cemetery. <br /> <br /> <br />If desired, donations in memory of John may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the John Bryan Woods Memorial at Southlake Hospital. <br /> <br /> **PLEASE NOTE: Due to construction, access to TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME via Davis Drive is restricted. From HWY 400/Hwy 9 Davis Drive (eastbound) you can enter the driveway on the south side of Davis Drive. From HWY 404/Davis Drive (westbound) turn LEFT (south) at Prospect Street, then 1st RIGHT at Queen Street, then 1st RIGHT on Charles Street. You can enter funeral home parking lot on the Left side via the laneway behind shopping plaza (there will be a Taylor Funeral Home Parking sign to mark driveway entrance). <br /></div>
