On the 18th of October 2016, John Frances Nicholson made his way to Heaven. At the time of his death, Frank was 89 years of age and suffered from Parkinsons Disease which progressively robbed him over the years of most of the things he loved the most.

Frank was born and raised in Wainwright Alberta. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force serving at Goose Bay, Labrador during the World War II from 1943 to 1945 and then at Camp Borden, Ontario from 1945 to 1951. During his time at Camp Borden, he met the love of his life, Audrey Grace Reid. At his request, Frank was honourably discharged from the military in order to get married. Frank then worked as a maintenance mechanic for Canadian Tire from 1951 to 1984. Frank travelled Ontario to various Canadian Tire locations and he could fix anything! After his retirement, Frank and Audrey summered in Ontario and wintered in Florida. Frank enjoyed golf, gardening and square dancing in Ontario and Florida.

Frank will be reunited with his Lord and some of his family that has predeceased him: his true-love and wife Audrey Grace (nee Reid), his parents (Joseph and Myrtle) and his siblings William, Pearl and Merrilyn.

Frank leaves behind his sisters Myrtle and Jean (Len), his brother Gerald, his son John Nicholson (Luisa), his daughter Diane Smart and grandchildren Amanda Nicholson, Sean Nicholson and Jared Smart.

Special thanks go out to the Dr. Pierre Geoffroy and the staff of Newmarket Health Centre. Frank loved the staff who kept him busy, comfortable and happy. Special thanks to the night shift crews who shared his night owl hours and treated him to snacks. Also special thanks to his caregivers: Lourdes, Pauline and Sam who gave him extra special one on one companionship.
In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted for Parkinsons Canada
