Harold (HAL) Toogood
December 29, 1930 - September 15, 2014
Toogood, Harold (Hal)
Peacefully, on September 15, 2014 in his 84th year, from Alzheimer’s Disease. He leaves his wife Sandra, children Nancy (Rick) and Jeff (Patti), grandchildren Katie, Cooper and Rhys, siblings Dianne Gettel, Don, Gail Briggs (deceased), Lorne, Gary and their respective families.
‘Coach’ as he was known to many, was a warm, gregarious person well suited to his career in sales and the food brokerage industry. He loved his family and friends and was a passionate sports enthusiast, particularly golf, skiing, mountain biking and competing in many marathons and triathlons.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Hal may be made to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation or to Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program, which removes financial barriers and allows all children the opportunity to participate in sports. A celebration of Hal’s life will be held in Toronto at a later date.
