BETTY THELMA BILLES (nee CARTER)
Of Newmarket, passed peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016. Betty was born on February 10, 1929 and her spirit is carried on by her husband, two children and three grandchildren.
A sweet heart, giver, proud grandmother and cat worshipper. Always willing to open her home to those who needed company. Above all, Betty loved family. She was surrounded and is survived by her loving husband John, daughter Deborah Savin (nee Billes) and her husband Mark and their children, Ben, Danica and Carter, her son William and many friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Hubert L. (Nick) Carter and Grace (Ted) (nee Ransome).
Betty was always joyful about her full life. This outlook was passed on to her family and was reflected in her interests and endeavours. In 1966, she was one of the original volunteers that set up the Women's Auxiliary (later renamed Volunteer Services) for the North York General Hospital. She was also a co-founder and first president of the Milne House Garden Club in 1967.
To her beloved John, Debi, William, family and friends, how precious you all have been to her. Knowing and loving each one of you was the success story of her life. For now, toot aloo.
